The chicken is similar to El Pollo Loco, but better, IMHO. It has the nice smoky bbq flavor of chicken cooked over an open wood-burning fire, like what you would have at a beach bbq or a lazy sunday afternoon at the park. The chicken is a bit charred on the outside, but I don't mind that--it's rustic, down home food, not fine dining. For all the exterior crispness, it's moist on the inside.
The sides were solid: rice and beans both with a firm al dente bite. None of the mushy sides you sometimes find at similar such places.
The service was professional, too. It's a very basic place. Basically a food stand, although there is an indoor seating area tucked away in the back. I expected the staff to be clueless for a modest looking place like this, but they anticipated my needs, offering salsa options, paying by card, etc. I felt confident that the place is well run. -

I got no chicken breasts in a $20 chicken meal, they also gave us very little fries. I am not going back.

I always get the half chicken here it's so damn good! When you walk up and smell that fresh grilled chicken that just came off the charcoal grill your mouth just waters.

The whole time I drove by thinking it was a "pollo Asado" place till today was completely stunned at how good their carne Asada Mulitas and burritos were don't even get me started w their chicken!! Most def coming back soon!

I've lived here forever and though always smelled this place I never went in. Omg I don't know what I was missing. I just get basic things but trust not ever quesadilla is made the same. So got a great one with extra fixings. Sold.
